As agreed at last Church Council, this morning we start our Worship Warm-up sessions for about 10 minutes before the formal service starts. Led by Beryl and the choir, accompanied by other musicians from our church family, it is an informal time, every fortnight, for us to enjoy singing some modern hymns from our  hymn books. Some we may already know, others will be new to us. So it is also a chance for us as a worshipping community to increase our repertoire. If you have any modern hymns you would like us to sing/learn, please tell our musicians and we will try to include them in the next quarter's sessions. Enjoy with blessings!

Ruth Lewis

Joyce Hahn

We have had a letter from Joyce Hahn's daughter, Stella, to tell us of the death of her mother on Boxing Day. If you would like details of a Thanksgiving Service which will be held on April 28th, please contact Mrs S Douglas. Ardmore, Slaley, Hexham. NE47 DBY. We remember Joyce and Fred with gratitude.

Confirmation Service

I am planning to hold a Confirmation Service on May 20th 2018. If you would like to come to learn more about becoming a Member of the Methodist Church - I am hoping to hold some preparation groups for people of all ages. Please let Sue know if you are interested and we'll try to choose dates to suit us all.

Love Sue.

Contact Ladies Fellowship

Our group meets again on Tuesday 16th January 7:30pm when  Gillian Lambert will be telling us about her ''Africa'' experience.

Methodist Asylum Project - Middlesbrough

...thanks us for our first delivery of 2018. The bedding, clothes and shoes are much appreciated in the current weather conditions. Please note that they are unable to use electrical equipment or indeed coat hangers! Also at present, crockery is not needed. If you are able to assist in removing these items from church it would be most helpful.

Pre Loved Cards

If you have Christmas cards that are looking for a new use, Jean would love to offer care for them. The cards are reused and not just pulped. It’s a much nicer to think all those good wishes live on!

Bible Readers.

To enable members of the congregation to follow the readings in their pew bibles, readers are asked to use the New Revised Standard Version unless specifically requested by the worship leader. You may find the large print lectern bible particularly useful as it exactly follows the same layout and page numbering of our agreed Bible. The 2nd reader may also find the red ribbon useful to mark their passage.

Women's Hour

Each 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 2:30pm.  We are a group of lively, friendly, older ladies in the Church who are good at caring for each other. You can be assured of a very warm welcome.
Join us on 17th January for a Musical afternoon with Chris and Friends and for another musical day on February 7th with Mes Amis.
